2x Terminal Server
Post # 35 permalink Topic #35 by mreschke on 2008-03-24 15:24:44 (viewed 1,162 times)

2xTerminalServer is a Remote administration tool similar to Mircosoft Remote Desktop Server. It allows a user to connect to \
a remote linux workstation on his or her own private session.

The 2x Terminal server is only for linux, but a linux and windows connection client \
is available.

Installation[-][- -][++]

I am installing on Fedora 6

Download the .rpm package from their website above, navigate to the installed directory from a terminal and simply type

Code Snippet
$ rpm -Uvh 2xterminalserver-1.5.0-61.i586.rpm

I recieved a dependency check saying libXp-6.so or something needed, So install \
libXp-1.0.0-8.i386 from /installers/Installers & Zips/Linux/libraries. (You can download
somewhere online). Install with:

Code Snippet
$ rpm -Uvh libXp-1.0.0-8.i386.rpm

This libXp is actually for fedora 8, but worked fine with my Fedora6Zod

Then install the Client app on another machine and test. NOTE: cannot connect to \
root user. I had to create a new user, then actually log in as that user on the \
local machine to create the desktop and all it's config files, then I could terminal \
in with that user.

Sucks you can't use root, I have it all customized and everything Sad
